Tongxin Wang, Ph.D. in polymer chemistry and physics, is currently CTO of Tongxin Business Unit of Zhongtian Technology Advanced Materials Co., Ltd., and has published more than 15 papers in “Solar Energy” et al with more than 10 authoritative patents, who is reviewer for the well-known photovoltaic magazine "Progress in Photovoltaics: Research and Application". As “Two-Creative talent” of Jiangsu Province, Dr. Wang is also distinguished expert of PV area and is professional in R&D of PV encapsulation materials.
The ZTT-JMF PVDF film developed by Dr. Wang is the first one product in PV area which has been certificated by TUV Rheinland and TUV Norland, which is also authoritatively certificated PVDF film worldwide by Ministry of Industry and Information of China.
In 2017, Dr. Wang was invited to be the material expert for "China PV Top-runner Innovation forum".

Domestic PVDF film for Photovoltaic grid parity
Photovoltaic (PV) grid parity is the dream of every PV practitioner and its PV generation cost is most important. In order to promote the decreasing of the PV cost, the choice of backsheet is critical, in which the choice of the outer film of Backsheet is particularly critical.
The premise of PV grid parity is the realization of the expectancy life of PV station and Using fluorine film for backsheet outer layer guarantee more than 25 years lifetime of PV station, no matter PVF and PVDF film, no matter imported or domestic film. Besides, the price of photovoltaic modules and auxiliary materials continues to decline, the high cost of some imported fluorine film has been unable to meet the cost requirements of PV station. From these two aspects, to meet the fluorine film cost-effective requirements the PV station, we must use domestic PVDF film as the a 25-year protection film for PV station.
Till now, PV station holders, especially large power investment companies still do not approve domestic fluorine film, but only permit two imported fluorine film, including PVF and PVDF. In response to this situation, the fluorine film, especially the domestic PVDF film, has been studied detailed from the development of global fluorine film industry, fluorine film processing technology and fluorine film weathering principle.
In this paper, the fluorine film industry for PV and the behind story of various views about fluorine film were interpreted. And the domestic PVDF film development status and trends were also described for perspectives of the development of the industry and fluorine film technology, thus explain the doubt of PV power plant practitioners and promote the domestic PVDF film to make a contribution to the PV grid parity.
